JUST got home from sim training
another session tml late afternoon till late nite
then another on fri nite
basecheck in 8 days time
im dead tired and lost weight recently
so many things on mind

came back and went to his room to check on him
he had removed his head bandage that my cousin so painstakingly wrapped for him earlier this evening
but knowing my Grandpa is quite stubborn
lolz
the small wound on his back of his head has dried up slightly
small blood clot but hopefully nothing serious
will bring him to the doctor on monday
meanwhile,
soft snoring can be heard as I gently touch his forehead
every nite i do that nowadays
lets hope his feet gets less swollen in days to come with all the antiseptic cream that is applied daily
he had used me this afternoon as his personal taxi
to go collect his tong-kat (walking stick in malay) from my auntie's place in Simei
proud as he always is..
he has succumbed to the fact that his current leg condition requires him to walk with support
and of cos constant coaxing by myself and my cousin
waking up in awhile's time to wish him Happy Chinese New Year
and for once
i will give him a hongbao (red packet)

he fell down again just now
its that damn slippery old carpet in his room that we have all been procrastinating to throw out
it finally gave way
huge swollen right cheek, bleeding wound behind his head
i went in, tore that carpet out and threw it out of the house
vacuumed
mopped
cleaned up his room before tomorrow's Chinese New Year 10th Feb
SHOULD have done this a long, long time ago
will check on him later
he looked a bit disorientated as my cousin was putting the head bandage around
but we all had a great reunion dinner earlier upstairs on the loft
windy and good homecooked food
and now
its back to the manuals and revising for sims tml and Monday.....

Friday Outing
he seemed much happier today
fever subsided after 2 days, but the swelling still remains
movement limited
but we decided it was about time to have a haircut together
drove out to Eunos and settled in Grandpa's favourite Indian barber shop
it was my first haircut in an Indian barber shop....and it was GOOD!
we had congee at the nearby market afterwards
his right hand on my left shoulder all the time...walking slowly together
a day spent with my last remaining grandparent
brought happiness to both of grandfather & grandson

am glad he's all better for the imminent Chinese New Year festivities
